Incredible $30 Map-Making Humble Bundle Is a Virtual Tabletop GM's Dream

After a brief run back in April, this cartography software collection is back for a limited time that lasts through early December. Described as a "treasure trove of assets and apps" created by ProFantasy Software throughout their history, the complete package is valued at more than thirteen hundred dollars. And there are three different bundles available here.

Primary Feature

The big draw is certainly permanent access to the CC3+ software, an industry-standard mapping application that can be used to generate various types including epic fantasy landscapes, detailed regional charts, urban layouts, and, perhaps most importantly, dungeon and tabletop battle maps.

Package Levels

Basic Package

The cheapest bundle tier, starting at just one dollar, features merely four of the 39 total items: Symbol Set 1: Fantasy Overland, Monster Token Pack 1, Source Maps: Castles!, and Source Maps: Cities!. This one's only for existing CC3+ users, but it does offer fresh fantasy design elements for overworld maps, more than 750 monster tokens compatible with online gaming platforms, over twenty-five aerial castle designs with 470 associated map tokens, eight complete urban centers, and more than 70 urban floorplans.

Mid-Range Option

The eight-item bundle starting at fifteen dollars offers enhanced value through inclusion of permanent CC3+ access, Cartographer's Annual Vol 1, Tome of Ultimate Mapping, and Symbol Set 6: Isometric Cities. Cartographer's Annual is the yearly bundle from ProFantasy's ongoing subscription program featuring multiple CC3+ enhancements including map packs and various other tools. The Isometric Cities enables present urban areas in 3D perspective using angled views from multiple angles. Meanwhile, the Mapping Tome comprises 760 pages suitable for novices and experts, full of tips and tutorials covering cartography techniques.

Every volume from the Annual series come with this bundle, alongside a slew of other resource and asset packs that can help users craft complete solar systems, or just go all-in on traditional fantasy world-building: battle maps, dungeons, cities, and land masses in multiple viewpoints. Users can also create character illustrations. For $30 as opposed to $15, the full bundle is so worth it, especially for cartographers who have only the annual CC3+ license seeking permanent licensing. But it's obviously more advantageous for map-making newbies since it includes the beginners' tutorials to facilitate learning. The one caveat here is that while the purchase is available across platforms, the applications only function on Windows.

As with other Humble Bundles, part of every purchase supports charitable organizations. In this instance, the beneficiary is Save the Children, an organization founded by Eglantyne Jebb in 1919 dedicated to enhancing children's welfare globally through education, health care, and emergency relief.
